Meet Our Leaders
Our members take an active role in the life of the church. It's most aptly described by a single line in our Sunday worship program: "Ministers: All the People." Under the Methodist Book of Discipline there are just three required committees:
Finance and Stewardship
The Finance Committee keeps the church checkbook, pays the bills, and runs an annual stewardship (giving) campaign.
Staff/Parish Relations
Staff/Parish deals with employment issues.
Trustees
The Trustees are entrusted with physical upkeep of our property, and with the sale or purchase of property.
In the flat structure of the new Northeast United Methodist Church, we have three other standing committees:
Church Council
The Church Council acts as the communications hub for other committees in the church, bringing people together on a regular basis to discuss the business of the church.
Missions and Outreach
Missions and Outreach helps us focus on our mission of serving Northeast Minneapolis and the world through a variety of mission and outreach programs.
Worship
The Worship Committee is concerned with the spiritual growth of the congregation, and works closely with Pastor Sarah Lawton to create meaningful worship services.
Other Teams may be formed on a special project-by-project basis.
