Northeast United Methodist Church

2510 Cleveland Street N.E.
Minneapolis, MN 55418

Welcome to Our Wedding Chapel!

Our sanctuary is beautiful, and we recognize that many people like to use it their wedding, whether they are members of the congregation or not. Many couples can easily picture themselves walking down the red carpet.

Membership at Northeast United Methodist Church is not a requirement to use our sanctuary for your wedding. We encourage you both to create a meaningful service for the both of you. The pastor will work with you, if you desire, to create a holy and unique ceremony celebrating your love. Northeast  United Methodist will marry all couples who are ready to engage and enter the commitment of marriage.. Weddings are festive occasions, and Pastor Sarah Lawton loves to officiate. You may, however, prefer to say your vows before another minister, and that's fine. Whether or not she officiates at your wedding, Pastor Sarah likes to meet all prospective couples, to become acquainted and to extend the the hospitality of Northeast United Methodist. Call our office assistant at 612-789-7462 for an appointment. Click here for our free Wedding Planning Guide.
Early Planning

1. Make your decisions early.  Once you know the date you would like for your wedding, contact the church. You must meet with a pastor before a date can be confirmed. The earlier you decide the better. Sometimes it is possible to schedule more than one wedding on a given day, but the time available may not meet your expectation or needs.

2. You will want to meet with the pastor of Northeast UMC for preliminary discussions about the wedding. Both the bride and groom should attend that meeting. Topics will include scheduling issues, the service, and your questions.

The Sanctuary is reserved for religious purposes only. However, our kitchen and dining hall are available for rehearsal dinners, bridal showers or wedding receptions.
